My mother and I agree that there's a lot wrong with the country. But we disagree about who should be our next president.

After my cousin Dewayne was killed in Iraq in January, my mother and I began paying closer attention to politics. I didn't understand why he had to give his life for a war that doesn't even make sense to me. It made me look differently President Bush.

My mom doesn't believe in the war in Iraq either, but she thinks that President Bush needs to finish what he started, and clean up his own mess. She's a Democrat, but she doesn't think it's a good idea to change leaders at a time when there's so much conflict. So I'm in a tough situation. I'm hoping that Kerry will say something that appeals to her- so I don't have to convince her by myself.
