Leaving Town: Machlyn's great aunt Reathie and his great grandfather, Obie Stewart, smile for the camera. Obi began working in coal mines at the age of 13. He used to travel throughout Virginia, West Virginia, and Kentucky mining coal to send money back to his family. He raised a family of fifteen.
