Nutritionist

"My nutritionist acts like another mother."

Listen to this Commentary!

By Simon Hadley

It all started a few months ago, when I wasn't feeling well-and it was like the energy I usually give off was gone. So my mom told me I had to go see this particular lady, because SHE claims she's the best nutritionist around. My mom thinks going to see her is for my own good, and it will help me become a much stronger person. But my nutritionist acts like another mother. And last time I checked I already HAD a mother.

Mind you, this lady is about in her mid fifties, and she loves wearing her TIGHT clothes, like leopard skin coats and stiletto heels. And just the other day, she asked me if I liked her new coat, and I told her no, and then she told me, "I know I look good. Now get back to that board." She makes me write down everything I ate during the whole week. She goes through ALL the drinks, ALL the snacks, and even has the audacity to go through the things I ate for dinner. If I try to lie about what I ate or I forgot something she will quickly jump in and say, "Don't play dumb, because I will find out."

I tell my mom how evil my nutritionist is, but my mom's the one who sent me to her in the first place. I guess one positive aspect of this situation is that I lost 20 pounds in one month. And I have been told that I look a lot thinner, but that STILL does not make my nutritionist super woman because I'M the one doing ALL the work. I told my nutritionist, "Listen, I applaud your effort, but what you don't understand is, the same person you're trying to help is the same person you're BEATING UP." And no amount of weight lost is worth me felling horrible about myself.
