Scars
"So, you might be thinking that I’m crazy, clumsy, and not careful – but that’s not the point. These scars are all a part of me, without which I would be incomplete."

Are scars only physical memories of pain, or can they be memories of learning experiences - good and bad? Youth Radio's Ayesha Yasa says that without the scars scattered all over her body, she would not be who she is today. To Ayesha, these old injuries actually remind her of important life lessons learned...lessons that she can look back on and laugh about.
I have a lot of different scars – most of which I remember getting.
Although injuries that lead to scars can be painful, the memories within each of them and the experiences involved with them can never be forgotten.
When I was seven, and I was watching TV with my brother, he just reached over and scratched me. Even though I hated him for a month after that, and my scar still hasn’t healed, every time I look in the mirror I laugh about my brother and how I got the scar.
My dad’s old car was a sports car. I was waiting for him to come get into it to drive me to preschool, when I discovered a magical button that you press and lipstick is created. So, I pushed the button a couple times and each time the lipstick got redder. Finally I pulled out the lipstick and put it on my tongue to check out the color.
It was not lipstick. It was the electrical lighter used to light cigarettes.
So, you might be thinking that I’m crazy, clumsy, and not careful – but that’s not the point. These scars are all a part of me, without which I would be incomplete.
