Because sometimes you just absolutely HAVE to let everybody know what the cutie at the drive-thru said when you got your burger...

Pew Research has issued the results of a national survey that shows a third of teens are willing to admit they text while driving. Lance Whitney from CNET digested the report:

A third of cell phone users aged 16 and 17 admitted to texting while driving, according to focus groups and a report released Monday by Pew Research. For the report, "Teens and Distracted Driving," Pew surveyed 800 kids aged 12 to 17 about their cell phone use in the car. Teens 16 and 17 years old were asked about their role as drivers, while younger ones were questioned about their experiences as passengers.

Teen texting is so hot right now, whether it's sexting or texting while driving. People just can't stop talking about teens not talking, or talking with their thumbs if you prefer. Yet while this feels like the same kind of media hype as "Summer of the Shark"- complete with horrific public service announcements- there are real dangers posed by both distracted driving and the sexting phenomenon.
