Find yourself waking in the night to update your Facebook status? Get agitated when Twitter is down? Are you maybe…addicted to social networking? Rest those Twitter-weary thumbs and bleary eyes.  The first internet and technology rehabilitation center, reSTART, is here.

ReSTART has been around since 2009 but with sky-rocketing social media usage, especially among young people, it seems like a relevant institution. Their on-site program takes anyone ages 18 to 38 and through the use of group counseling, psychotherapy, 12-step meetings, and life skills coaching, rehabilitates them from Farmville-playing zombies to functioning members of society.

They're not the first internet rehab though. In South Korea and Japan, there are internet rehabs for young people as well.

According to ReSTART’s website many times internet and technology addictions are actually signs of other underlying issues like depression or ADHD.

I definitely don’t consider myself “addicted” to Facebook but I can think of a couple of people in my life who are.  As ridiculous as they seem, these particular brands of rehabs could be making big bank in the near future.
