On January 8th, 2010, the KUNM Youth Radio Project attended a workshop hosted by The Southwest Organizing Project. In attendance were various youth from around the country who were in Albuquerque for the National Planning Committee for the US Social Forum. The workshop was facilitated by hip-hop activist, Invincible. The training focused on the awareness of gentrification, criminalization and displacement going on in our communities so that we could further relate to what is currently happening in Detroit, Michigan. Detroit is the host-city for the 2010 US Social Forum. In this video, Invincible takes a compilation of everyone’s quotes about gentrification, criminalization and displacement and wove it into a freestyle.
