Our friends at Youth Outlook have a new report on violence in Oakland:

Research suggests the number of homicides that take place in Oakland has gone down over the last three years. Young people who live in the hood aren't buying these statistics. Violence on the streets of Oakland is just as rampant as ever before, they said. YO!'s Sean Shavers, a West Oakland resident, interviewed community members about youth violence and what they believe needs to change in order for youth violence to decrease.
