BY-NC-SA Taco Bell introduced their new brand--Taco Bell Drive-Thru-Diet. We’ve seen Subway’s commercial about eating fresh and lose weight. They claim that Subway’s weight-loss character lost over 100 pounds by eating Subway. Taco Bell also has their own weight-loss character, 27-year-old Christine Dougherty, who says she lost 54 pounds by eating Taco Bell’s lower-calorie “Fresco menu.”
With rampant media images of how skinny someone should be, teens struggle with body image, and are constantly confronted with new weight loss fads. According to the site Flat Stomach Exercises, teens should try the "weight loss buddy system." It suggests walking the mall while checking out the newest trends.
Teens can get too caught up in weight loss obsession and sometimes miss meals, and according to WebMD, missing a meal can cause you to slow your metabolism and lead to over eating. WebMD also suggests monitoring your weight to slow weight gain. Of course the most obvious weight loss tactic is exercise.
I don’t believe the ad. I hope kids don’t think eating fast food is the key to losing weight.
