If you’re a tech freak like me than you are paying a close attention to the CES 2010 —Consumer Electronics Show-- in Las Vegas. Nearly all of the leading technology companies come to introduce their newest products each year at CES, making it the biggest technology-related trade show in the country.
I thought I've seen technology at its peak when I heard of 3-D TVs or Verizon's new phone Droid, but I was wrong. At CES companies like Samsung and Panasonic showed off their newest product like the biggest 3D HD TV to thinest TV ever made.
Check out videos of those and more after the jump.
Samsung introduced their transparent OLED display. You would think a transparent screen would not allow you to watch things clearly but not true. It's 14 inches and anything projected on the screen can be watched perfectly. Take a look for yourself
As if Samsung didn't blow people away with that transparent display they had another jaw-dropping piece of equipment. The manufacturer showed off their thinnest 3-D TV ever: the 9000-series. The TV would be available in screen sizes from 19” to 65” inches and is a third of an inch thin. The 9000 series also comes with a big touch-screen remote.
Last year Panasonic introduced their 150 inch flat HDTV making it the biggest TV, until now. Panasonic themselves beat their own record by showing off their new 152 inch full HD 3-D TV. Now that’s what I call big. Check out last years 150 inch:
Phones aren’t lagging behind at this show. Motorola introduced their first Android phone, the Blackflip. It’s a touch screen phone with a full keyboard. The coolest part is the camera, which is located on the keyboard allowing you to take a self portrait without having to be in front of a mirror. The phone can also be used as an alarm clock by positioning it on a tabletop and the same setup makes watching video much easier. Take a look at how it functions:
If you like standing out in a crowd the W “phonewatch” from Kempler & Strauss might be the perfect watch and phone for you. It’s a touch screen phone/watch that comes with texting, picture and video camera, music player, calendar, and plenty of other applications.
Those are my favorite as of right now. CES 2010 goes on until the 10th of January who knows what else is in store.
