A new video has surfaced that shows a BART officer, Tony Pirone striking a man believed to be Oscar Grant on New Year’s Day. This tape has gained attention because it has been speculated whether Pirone’s actions fueled the killing of Grant moments later.  Prior to this latest video, the only man under questioning was Johannes Mehserle, who has now resigned from the BART police force. As the Director of the BART Board, Carole Ward Allen, states that she will hold these BART officers to “the highest standards of professionalism and ethical conduct.” via KTVU
