Oakland North posted a story about Oakland International High School's art class, where immigrants and refugees are able to create graphic novels telling their immigration stories. I think it's great that people from all over the world can communicate with each other through these illustrated stories.

Immigrants and refugees have a hard time adjusting to the lifestyle of a different country when they are unable to speak the language. Graphic novels are a good way to show an artistic side without being judged on how well a person can write and speak English. Lillian R. Mongeau has the story:

Students at Oakland International High School come from across the globe. As immigrant and refugee youth, they represent over two dozen countries from Nicaragua to Mongolia and speak over 29 languages. In an art class they have created illustrated stories that document their lives.
