As the conference in Copenhagen continues its second week, a new leader has arrived: President Obama. In his speech below Obama says the time for talk is over. He urges for action, for the nations to come together to make an agreement and create a solution. While Obama rallies inside, thousands of young people from all over the world protest outside. From marching with “There is no Planet B” signs to stripping down to their clothes and dancing outside of the building, students demand that negotiators adopt a fair and binding treaty to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
“Mark Bergfeld, a 22-year-old student at the University of Essex, says 'The leaders at COP15 won't come to any solution and it's up to young people to say they want to fight climate change,' he said, using the acronym for the current round of talks.”
