Earlier today president barrack Obama met with the prime minister of Zimbabwe Morgan Tsvangirai to talk about the current crisis in the country. Since President Robert Mugabe changed the constitution in 1987, he has maintained his presidency. But there was more to fix in the country, whites made up less then 1% of the population, yet they owned almost 70% of the land so a redistribution of land by the Zimbabwe government came into effect in early 2000. Zimbabwe's current economic and food crisis, described by some observers as the country's worst humanitarian crisis since independence, caused by a drought affecting the entire region, the HIV/AIDS epidemic, and the government's price controls and land reforms. Mr. Obama said he wanted to encourage the rule of law, human rights and basic health and education in Zimbabwe, so he has decided to aid the country with 73 million dollars. This should really help Prime Minister Tsvangirai and the country of Zimbabwe get back on their feet. This is going to help the people of Zimbabwe tremendously.
