The 80’s were an iconic decade with the birth of hip hop music and the creation of a new culture that impacted the way people talked, danced, and most importantly the way people dressed. Fashion trends that ignited in the 80s still haven’t gone out of style. With the end of the decade coming to a close, I thought I would put together the top ten best 80’s fashion trends of 2009.

1. Gold Links or Dooky chains – these almost-too-thick necklaces are what you wear if you are a fly guy.
2. Coogie sweaters – might have been lame when Bill Cosby wears them, but to teens today they’re the threads of hip hop royalty
3. Jordans—the essential tennis shoe for fly guy foot wear.
4. Neon color accessories—are loud and bright a must have for any fly girl looking to get that real 80’s look.
5. Leggings- are skin tight pants that girls wear to show off their curves without being too vulgar.
6. Door knocker earrings-are earrings that are in the shape of a door knocker they’re big usually gold and paired with a gold link to complete out fit of any fly girl.
7. Wind breakers-are a type of jacket.
8. gazel glasses-are glasses with big lenes tricked out with a gold frame and diamonds.
9. Adidas- a classic hip hop sneaker made popular by Run D.M.C, pioneers of hip hop music. 10. high top fade- is a haircut for boys; it was the style.
