Thousands of Berkeley Marchers Blocked By Bus Keep Steppin' To Oakland

BERKELEY-Day of Action protestors have circumvented an AC Transit bus that was blocking the route of their march to Oakland.
The bus was parked on the Telegraph street route at Ward Street, but protestors walked around it on Stewart Street and continued the procession that's being led by a station wagon with a painted hood depicting a teacher with her mouth taped shut.
It's a racially diverse crowd of students, their parents, faculty, labor unions, and high school students. After announcing that more marchers were joining the crowd, organizers used the megaphone to call for a vote asking whether the march should turn silent, to conserve energy. They proceeded from Ashby and Telegraph, sans chants.

Buses won't stop us
Thanks AC Transit, for helping shut down the streets!
(Historical note: it was transit workers in Oakland who began the last general strike in the US)
