Tim Lincecum Wins Again

Tim Lincecum, a pitcher for the San Fransico Giants, has won the Cy Young award for the second year in a row.  The win was historic because it is the first time in the history of the Cy Young awards that someone has won the awards in his first two full seasons playing. At 25, Lincecum is also the youngest player to win consecutively.

The Cy Young awards are given to the best pitcher in major league baseball. The fist award was introduced in 1956 by baseball commissioner Ford Frick in honor of Hall of Fame pitcher Cy Young, who passed away in 1955.

Lincecum is known for his long stride and his ability to generate very, very fast pitches. The funniest fact about him is how he plays; he throws right-handed and bats left-handed.

Timothy is one of my favorite players and I hope to see major accomplishments and strides from him in this upcomming season!
