SANTA CRUZ, CA-- On Sunday police officers ordered dozens of students who took over UC Santa Cruz' administrative building to come out. Students were protesting against the 32 percent tuition increase the University of California Board of Regents approved last week.No arrests were made and university officers say the operation ended peacefully. But videos taken by protesters tell a different story. The videos show officers pushing their way through a wall of students who were chanting “We are peaceful, what about you?”

UC Santa Cruz was not the only campus that was taken over by students and protesters.

UC Berkeley students took over Wheeler Hall. The daylong occupation ended with the protestors being arrested and cited for misdemeanor trespassing charges before being released from the scene. The students who had barricaded themselves were arrested without incident. One of the protesters inside the building was informing everybody through the Twitter account @ucbprotest. The protesters demands, as transmitted over Twitter included:

1) To repeal the 32% fee increase
2) for transparancy of the UC Budget to all
3) Allow undocumented laborers and students free access to Berkeley campus
4) Democratize the Regents and fire our disgraceful "leaders" including Yudof.
