My cousin got me into K-POP, which stands for Korean Pop Music, with a group called Big Bang. I was a bit skeptical at first when my cousin told me about them. I thought it was going to be a corny Asian wannabe pop group. But after watching their videos and listening to a couple of songs I totally fell in love with them. I can honestly say that they are better than majority of the main stream artists here in America.
I'm Asian and majority of the music I hear on the radio are by Whites, African Americans, Mexicans, but rarely Asians. Not that I dislike artists here in America, it's just a nice change from all that mainstream music you hear over and over.
Big Bang change their style up every album so fans like me never get bored. Everything from hair, clothes, tempo and even the language they sing in.
After learning about Big Bang, I am more open minded about music no longer excluding artists based on language. Just because I can't speak Korean doesn't mean I can't listen and enjoy their music. A lot of others are starting to learn about K-POP and K-POP artists, maybe because last year K-Pop superstar Rain stared in the movie Speed Racer and is coming out in another movie Ninja Assassin. Even American celebrity Megan Fox is after Rain.
