AN HISTORIC MOMENT: THE FIRST EVER U.S. SOCIAL FORUM
This weekend culminated the first ever US Social Forum (USSF). Held in Atlanta, Georgia, the Forum was modeled off the World Social Forum to be an opportunity for activists and organizers of the social, racial, economic and environmental justice movements to converge and build strategy for social change. “The USSF sends a message to other people’s movements around the world that there is an active movement in the US opposing US Policies at home and abroad,” says the USSF website.
