Youth Voices on Iraq
A one hour show featuring youth perspectives.
Youth Voices
on Iraq features a cross section of stories from young people watching events
in Iraq. This Youth Radio special offers a youth angle on the latest news on
the war, as well as snapshots of the lives of young people around the country
and abroad during wartime. This special showcases the material of many different
young producers in youth media programs nationwide.
Hear the stories of young people in the military, including a 19-year-old in
Oakland joining the service to escape the violence in his hometown, and young
people living on bases across the United States, waiting to be deployed. Also,
tune in for dispatches and commentary from teenagers with friends and family
in the military, including three kids whose mom is deployed in the Middle East.
This Youth Radio special also features audio postcards from young people abroad,
including young Iraqis eager to explain their lives to Americans, as well as
European and Middle Eastern teens offering their thoughts on war and peace.
