Football is Here to Stay

"Football is more complicated than most people think. It’s all about strategizing and, of course, human ability."

By Mark Brown

I feel that one of the toughest sports to play right now is football. We all know football as athletes putting their bodies in harm’s way. In the end, after the constant risks of injury, the prized name in the sport can be claimed as “champions”.

Football is more than X’s and O’s, coaches, water boys, cheerleaders and mascots. What some people don’t know is the General Manager’s office. That’s where the brain of football is located. The heart of football is where thousands of screaming fans view their favorite team and players.

Football is more complicated than most people think. It’s all about strategizing and, of course, human ability. It also produces some role models for the younger generation, including Champ Bailey, Jerry Rice, Joe Montana, Brett Farve, Peyton Manning, Ray Lewis, and many other players.

My favorite football player is Kellen Winslow Jr. from the Cleveland Browns. Sometimes, people idolize coaches like Vince Lombardi, Joe Gibbs, and John Madden. Football also extends down from the professional level to college, high school, youth and peewee football.

Football is a good example of an organization trying to get our youth more involved in sports. I once played football for a team, but now I play just for fun. Football will always be around and hold a place in my heart.
