Babies to Teens

By Janee Wafer

Babies to teens
Mommy and daddy
Daddy's little girl
Cute, cuddly, safe and secure like a teddy bear

Staying out chilling and hanging out
Freedom becomes the strongest desire
and soon to become an addiction
Get home late
Means Trouble
Just like an Outcast
Wishing to become an in cast
Independence, confidence, and beauty
Turn into a requirement
Perspectives, views, differences,
Are forever irrelevant

The communication, and languages
Of soft sweet seduction
Chocolate brown milky way
Full of kisses, full of hugs
Hello, goodbye, you stare I smile

The crazy in love phase
Reveals feelings, mixed emotions, and insecurity
Relationships are taking and making a risk
Of happiness, joy, and love
Also pain, grief, and suffering

I am a soulchild of music,
Music which is a journey
Of many mistakes
That includes the elapsed faith in myself
My views, my perspectives, my morals and goals
That I have exchanged for beauty, weakness, and instability

Babies to teens
How we change and how we forget
