As Time Flies

"Rich folks are drinking their wine while we try to make a dime."

By Peter Xuan

As the clock keeps ticking
Our hands keep shaking,
Our minds keep thinking.
So many things ahead of us, yet so little time.
Rich folks are drinking their wine
While we try to make a dime.
As time flies, I wonder why.

As we walk down the streets we mind our own peace
Not even recognizing a close friend that might be exposed to a disease.
As we keep walking we mind our own business, like selfish little beasts
We keep our heads down, looking at the floor.
As we walk we don't even notice the poor begging for more,
And above their heads stands a wall that says "STOP THE WAR".
How can we help and say "STOP THE WAR" when we can't even help our own?
As time flies, I wonder why.
