Watching Time Fly

I often find myself searching for direction
and lose my stronghold on control while reaching for my goal
losing sight of what's ahead to come
forgetting the past and future
living life in the fast lane a lot of things will just zoom right on by
and moving too slow
can very well be the reason why
some things will forever be just out of reach
it's hard to take heed but easy to preach when you are both the student and the teacher
and looking in the mirror when confiding in your mentor
speeding through the city
staring at the world through my rearview is where I find myself
