Mr. Nice Guy

"It used to annoy me that all these girls would only go after the bad boys and get their hearts broken, while guys who would have been more devoted were just sitting and waiting for their chance."

Listen to this Commentary!

By Max Abrams

I'm not ashamed to admit it- my friends call me "The Woman."

Sensitivity in teenage guys isn't valued too highly, and many guys are scared to even say they cry. I think it's ok for people show their real feelings and not front about their emotions. Many of my friends are girls, and because I am sensitive, I'm always there to listen, even if it's the evening before a big Spanish test, or the one night of the month I can catch up on my sleep. As many guys know, when girls consider you "only a friend" it's virtually impossible to break out of the friend zone and become something more.

It used to annoy me that all these girls would only go after the bad boys and get their hearts broken, while guys who would have been more devoted were just sitting and waiting for their chance. Every older person tells me every three seconds, when I go to college, girls will all start liking the nice guys. But I've accepted who I am, even if what I am isn't the most attractive to my female classmates.
