Saving Trees

"It’s not just adults – kids should recycle too."

Listen to this Commentary!

By Stanley Pauyo

What would the future look like with trees nowhere to be seen?

In about 50 years, I think the world will look much different if we keep abusing trees the way we are now, logging them for furniture and paper. But it’s not just adults – kids should recycle too.

Just the other day, I saw a kid write a single sentence on a piece of paper. He didn’t like the sentence so he balled up the paper and just threw it in the trash like a basketball….just like that!

I’m not trying to nag, but if everyone did that, trees could be gone before we know it.

In movies like Robocop, there is litter in the streets and skyscrapers are everywhere When I grow up, I don’t want to look around and see the bleak future that I see in the movies. So we all need to realize what we are doing to the planet before we get to the point where the whole world looks like New York City, full of skyscrapers and concrete.
