"The concept of radio deejays having an independent opinion has been virtually wiped out."

Listen to this Commentary!

By Lauren Blassingame

Recently a huge fire has been lit under those in charge of the news media.

I feel that the concept of radio deejays having an independent opinion has been virtually wiped out, as many station managers limit the freedom of their employees.

Recently, Howard Stern has been criticized for offensive statements made on his show.

I listen to a morning show everyday before school, and the segment I like the most is the opinion poll, where everyone can express themselves in an open forum. That is what talk radio is about.

Radio listeners have to be less sensitive and more realistic. Either deal with reality or turn off the radio, the television, or better yet, just stop listening to what other people say all together.
