Internet Porn

"With all the easy access to the Internet, pornography is at everyone’s fingertips."

Listen to this Commentary!

By Lauren Blassingame

With all the easy access to the Internet, pornography is at everyone’s fingertips, and there’s not much that can be done about it.

There have been many instances where I’ve been surfing the web for fun or needed to use the Internet for homework….sometimes I’ve finished the assignment without interruption, but other times I’ve found myself wondering what the words "Young Hot Teens" have to do with the revolutionary war. I've even had to restart my computer just to get away from the sites.

Internet pornography is a nuisance. Many lawmakers and disgruntled citizens have taken things to the extreme, suggesting pornography be banned from the Internet, but this would be an outright violation of the First Amendment.

Internet pornography will be as raunchy and annoying as ever. But as a citizen who believes in the First Amendment, I still prefer to have the choice of whether or not to see it.
