Cork Bat Scandal

"Imagine if you were in Sammy Sosa's shoes. How would you feel?"

By Quintin Taylor

Today when you turn on your TV to ESPN or ESPN2 or even the Fox Sports Net Channel, all you hear is, "Sammy Sosa is a fake, he did not hit those homeruns with a real wooden bat."

The media is making a big scandal out of this issue. They go around at the station waving champagne corks. They need to stop acting like little kids and put a stop to it. I think they shouldn't joke around with this because imagine if you were in Sammy Sosa's shoes. How would you feel? The man said he was sorry and that he had picked up the wrong bat by mistake. I mean, he already got suspended for eight games, and the Cubs were already in a slump. It's just messing up his career. Everyone used to call him "Sammy the Homerun King," but now people call him the "Cork Man."

Quintin Taylor is 13-year-old home-schooled student in Atlanta, Georgia.
