Youth Radio Provides: Directed Giving Opportunities

Youth Radio offers supporters the opportunity to direct their giving to specific programs. Express your passion for teaching youth about healthy foods (Youth Radio Eats), support college-bound low-income youth (Youth Radio Educates), or promote investigative reporting by youth (Youth Radio Reports).

Education & Career

Youth Radio Empowers – Every year, Youth Radio works with cohorts of young people who are in detention facilities, foster care or group homes, or are on probation or parole. When you give exclusively to Youth Radio Empowers, your dollars go straight to providing invaluable media literacy education, production workshops and information on gender issues and violence prevention to these often-overlooked, court-involved youth. For instance, $20,000 will support Youth Radio’s important work that we do with young men detained at Camp Wilmont Sweeney juvenile detention center. Donate now.

Youth Radio Educates – Have a passion for what Youth Radio teaches? Ensure that young people can continue to learn converged media production and gain employment skills that will allow them to compete for 21st Century jobs by helping our students through beginner and intermediate coursework. Youth Radio Graduates – Help keep YR participants at a 100% high school graduation rate, and assist in improving our already outstanding 85% rate of matriculation to institutions of higher education by supporting our academic and career counseling services. Your donations will support academic advisors who provide one-on-one and group counseling to our participants whose needs range from fulfilling high school graduation requirements to securing financial aid for college. Youth Radio Works – Youth Radio gladly pays many of the young people who graduate our courses to stay on with us as interns and project associates, enriching our model of cascading peer leadership and helping to secure their futures as employable individuals.
