Rihanna’s Christmas shopping caused a ruckus at Los Angeles’s Grove. The hottest young pop artist tried her hardest to be undercover, but it was not enough. Rihanna was wearing a hood over her hair and big sunglasses when she was spotted at Nordstrom and the Nike store. Once shoppers realized that Rihanna was among them, they started following her as she shopped.
“Her other shopping scene was not as relaxed. Nike store officials had to close the store down when Rihanna entered and uniformed guards kept shoppers from entering the store. A crowd of 100 shoppers waited in the hope of a Rihanna appearance post-Nike shopping. It was not to be, she and her pal snuck out the back door.”

Chris Brown has officially apologized for assaulting his former girlfriend, Rihanna. Brown was convicted of assault and making criminal threats after pleading guilty to the February 8 attack. Brown officially apologized to Rihanna as well as the public through a YouTube video. Brown said the following about how the ordeal has changed him:
"I think just being -- I would say ridiculed, but just criticized and -- and scrutinized by a lot of people. And just being able to see who I am as a person, it just shaped me to be a more stronger and -- better young, black male," (via ABC News)
Chris Brown may be apologizing, but the fact of his action still remains. In light of what he did, it seems much more likely that public scrutiny is what caused his apology as opposed to genuine sincerity. So what is the message that role-model Chris Brown is trying to convey? That we are responsible only for what the tabloids write about… nice try Mr. Brown.
Rihanna has pulled her self together after being a victim of domestic violence at the hands of her ex-boyfriend R&B star Chris Brown. Rihanna attended the Glamour Awards where she was presented with the Woman of the Year honors. She is back and stronger than ever. Her album Rated R that is due 11.23.09 has one my new favorite songs: "Russian Roulette." I’m glad to see the old Rihanna back and not letting her past experience prevent her from taking over the radio airwaves. Check out what she wore at the award show and listen to her thank you speech
Rihanna has had a busy week, so far she has had a new video released for her latest album "Rated R". The video is named "Wait Your Turn" and you can only view it on her website. If you want to see what she has been up to go to her site and support her.
Also coming up from the star, Rihanna will finally break her silence. This Thursday Rihanna will tell the world her side of the story, don't miss what Rihanna has to say about the entire Chris Brown incident.
Drake? Is he the hottest rapper in the game right now? In my opinion I believe that he is.
My reasons for this are: he can sing and rap, he is on basically every song on the radio, in his lyrics he uses all types of figures of speech, his delivery is impeccable, and his “best i ever had” song debuted at #92 and since then has reached Read more...
Rihanna is trying to revamp her image after so much press about the physical abuse she endured from ex-boyfriend, Chris Brown. She is not only making headlines with her comeback, but with her new topless album cover. The album, Rated R , due out Nov 23rd, has Rihanna posing topless and wrapped with barbed wire on the front.
The media is ganging up on her because of this provocative picture. I don’t see anything wrong with her cover. She has a unique punk rock look that only she can pull off. Her style is what sets her apart from the rest. Rihanna is not afraid to make bold statements with her clothing, hair styles, and tattoos. In fact, she has a style that most people envy. Her recent hairstyle is a mohawk—by far the best mohawk I’ve ever seen.
Check out Rihanna's new single, "Russian Roulette" -- are you feeling it?

Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger signed a bill restricting aggressive photographers, aka papparazzi, into law this week. AB 381 will make it illegal for photographers to obtain pictures through aggressive means starting January 1st, which means the paparazzi has little time to conform. In addition, media outlets that pay these photographers and know the pictures were obtained through aggressive and questionable means can be sued. For media outlets like TMZ, the folks who leaked police photos of a battered Rihanna, and the photographers that work for them, this poses a serious threat. TMZ, a name synonymous with paparazzi, has already expressed their frustration by leaking photos of California's first lady running her mouth on the phone while driving, a serious driving infraction.
Back in June 2009 The City of Santa Monica considered ways to crack down on paparazzi after some photographers who were crowding sidewalks causing an aggressive scene, trying to get photos of Suri Cruise (daughter of Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise) on her first days of school. I think the main reason they never got to enacting a paparazzi "buffer zone" is because there's a major first amendment issue. Just because members of the press aggressively assert their freedoms doesn't make them any less necessary. Yes some of these paparazzis are jerks, yelling out anything while holding a camera to get a filmed reaction, but it is their right to be obnoxious on public streets. On top of that, we are powerless to stop anyone from taping us, be it at the convenience store or on the bus. This right exists so that the media can be aggressive in uncovering truth and, yes, even scandal.
What these restrictions will do is make people who have made an honest living outlaws. Some of these folks are struggling to make ends meet photo-to-photo and won't care about some new law saying that now they are villainous predators. Media outlets will still purchase these photos and find loopholes to clear themselves of liability. Outlets will begin to close down their California operations to more paparazzi friendly locations, taking their business with them. Eventually, someone is going to arrest the wrong photographer under this new law and it will be challenged as unconstitutional, which could cost the state. Really, you can't stop the cameras, you can only try to look good when they are on you.
Chris Brown's first interview since he beat up Rihanna, will air this Wednesday night on Larry King Live. America is eager to hear from the R&B stars mouth exactly three things: "W! T! F!" Judging from a preview of the interview with the 20-year old Brown sandwiched between his mother Joyce Hawkins and lawyer Mark Geragos, it looks like he's not going to offer up any real explanation. We will get to hear exactly what type of emotional trauma from his childhood (which his mother should expound upon) led up to what his loved ones call "strange behavior".
But, honestly, who cares about that? The real question at hand is: can he come back from this devastating blow to his "good boy" image and maintain a career as an entertainer? Pop culture history gives us some examples to look at here.
