Nishat Kurwa

Fall 1995

Nishat graduated from San Francisco State University with a degree in Journalism. She is a producer at Youth Radio, working full-time in our newsroom and leading the International Desk. Nishat also is an editor at KCBS-AM in San Francisco. She teaches journalism and works on community organizing with Cultural Unity, a South Asian student group at Berkeley High School. In 2004, Nishat won a Knight Journalism Fellowship and was named a Salzburg Seminar Fellow for Session 416 - Ethics in Reporting and Editing.
