Belia Mayeno

Fall 1997

As the voice of "Adona," Belia captivated listeners worldwide as she recounted the plight of a teenaged girl living in Kosovo during the NATO bombings. The Youth Radio series, "E-Mails From Kosovo," won the duPont/Columbia Silver Baton for Excellence in Broadcasting. Belia attends Laney and Vista Colleges, and worked as a counselor for San Francisco Women Against Rape. She has returned to youth radio as an associate producer. In May, 2002, Belia represented Youth Radio at the Peabody Awards ceremony in New York. Her work has run on all our outlets.
